With a target to improve primary education with participation of parents, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday told all District Education Officers to hold a meeting of parents on the lines of private schools.
School Education Department Secretary Dr S Bharathi Dasan said such meetings should be held regularly. They should be monitored and a report should be submitted to the Education Department.
The suggestions from the parents will be sought on use of innovative ideas on teaching and learning processes. The active participation of parents needed to be ensured.
The letter said a core group will be formed to implement parent awareness campaigns.
Among those included in the core group will be a member of the school management committee, a teacher, an active mother and select public representatives.
