In order to control air pollution and keep the roads of this port township neat and clean, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) introduced a new mechanical road sweeper on Saturday.
Odisha State Pollution Control Board Member-Secretary Debidutta Biswal dedicated it for the service of people of the town in the presence PPT Chairman inkesh Roy, ICZMP Odisha Project Director Susanta Nanda, former Project Director Dr Ajit Pattanaik and Administrative Officer Parameswar Swain, Dhamra Port COO Subrat Tripathy and OSPCB Regional Officer Dr Mukesh Mahaling.
The mechanical sweeping machine is the initiative of the PPT to effectively clean the roads of the township and reduce the exposure of dust and dirt particles to manual sweepers. It is a heavy-duty truck-mounted vacuum suction-type road sweeper with a filtration system, which can operate both day and night.
