The officials of Water Resources Department of Chhattisgarh and Odhisha met here on Tuesday to discuss safety measures to be adopted in the reservoirs having irrigation projects on Mahanadi River in view of the ongoing monsoon season.
The officials from both the States are part of a Sub Committee of a National-level Committee on irrigation dams, an official statement issued here said. The Committee members discussed issues on maintenance work under way on dams besides monitoring their water level during the current monsoon season.
It was also agreed in the meeting to regularly exchange information on water level on Hirakud dam in Odhisha and Gangrel dam in Chhattisgarh on Mahanadi River during the ongoing monsoon season.
