The farmers of Saraiset village in Pandaria Development Block of the district have expressed concern over their paddy crop getting destroyed by seasonal diseases.

A delegation of farmers from the Pandaria Development Block on Friday expressed  worry over damage caused to crops in front of In-charge Collector and Chief Executive Officer of Kawardha Zila Panchayat K l Chouhan during the Jandharshan programme in the district headquarters.

The farmers told Chouhan that the paddy crop afflicted with seasonal diseases would hamper paddy output from the region. They also brought a sample of the crop afflicted with the disease at the Jandharshan programme to show it to the officials.

After having a look at the sample and hearing the problems of the farmers, the In-charge Collector directed the Agriculture Department officials to take necessary action.

Chouhan assured the farmers that the paddy crops would be protected using scientific methods.

He also stated that a team of agricultural scientists would visit the farms to take stock of the damage to crops on account of seasonal diseases caused by excessive rain in the region.
