The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has issued orders to implement an amended pay scale for a total of 9,734 panchayat secretaries in the State effective from August 1, 2013.
As per the order, the Panchayat secretaries with less than 15 years of service would receive pay scale of Rs 3500-10000 with Rs 1,100 as ‘Grade Pay’. Similarly, those with 15 years and more of service would receive Rs 3500-10,000 with Rs 1,200 as 'Grade Pay'. This apart, the Panchayat secretaries would also receive prevailing dearness allowance, an official statement issued here on Monday stated. Following salary determination of the panchayat secretaries, they would also receive 3 per cent annual increment in their salary on July 1 every year as given to the Government employees.
As per the amended salary scale of the panchayat secretaries, those with less than 15 years of service would receive monthly emoluments of Rs 8,406 from the current level of Rs 5,400 while those with more than 15 years of service would receive monthly emoluments of Rs 10,044 compared to Rs 6400 received by them earlier.
