Panchayat members create ruckus, shout slogans

The members at the general meeting of the Raipur District Panchayat created a ruckus by shouting slogans over the issue of transfer of Shiksha Karmis on Tuesday.

The members, alleging arbitrariness of officers, demanded cancellation of all transfer orders. They said that the officers of the District Panchayat had been working in violation of rules.

There was no agenda in the general meeting of the District Panchayat held to discuss the issue on Tuesday. The members had come prepared to take up other issues in the meeting.

When the meeting started, the members Murari Mishra, Sunil Maheshwari, Krishnakumar Chandrakar, Pappu Banjare, Amit Sharma and others raised the issue of transfer of Shiksha Karmis.

They said that the officers of the District Panchayat were engaged in transfer of Shiksha Karmis, without taking approval.

In this regard, the members demanded reply from the officers. On not getting any satisfactory reply, they created a ruckus and started slogan shouting. Some members raised the issue of paddy procurement through cooperative societies. They said the societies were recovering ‘drying expenses’ from the farmers.
