With the declaration of the results for 745 posts in 28 districts of Chhattisgarh under the three-tier Panchayat by-election, the election process ended on Thursday. The model code of conduct applicable in the constituencies has also ended.
State Election Commissioner, Chhattisgarh Thakur Ram Singh said the election was peaceful.
The election was scheduled for 631 posts of Panch, 108 of Sarpanch and six posts of Janpad members. Three posts of Janpad members, 22 of Sarpanch and 406 posts of Panch in 21 districts were elected unopposed.
The polling for 52 posts of Panch, 62 of Sarpanch and three posts of Janpad Panchayat members was held on June 28.
On Thursday, the election results were announced and winning candidates got the certificates.
