Governor Shekhar Dutt has approved a proposal of appointing Gajraj Pagariya, Promoter of Mats University as the Chancellor of Mats University Raipur.
The State Chief Electoral Officer offered a ‘No Objection Certificate’ on the proposal for his appointment in view of the Model Code of Conduct currently enforced in the State.
This approval on Pagariya's appointment was granted by the Governor under the section-16 (1) of Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) Act 2005 in response to the recommendation provided under the provisions of statute 5(1)(3) of Mats University, an official Press release stated here on Thursday.
Pagariya completed his higher education from Durga College. He established the first private university of Chhattisgarh i.e. Mats University. He was the former Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Ex-Chairman Chhattisgarh Volleyball Association, and he has also served on other posts of political and social
organisations in past.
