Hundreds of people, intellectuals, civil society members besides Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the funeral of noted freedom fighter and Padma Shri Dr Mahadev Prasad Pandey at Marwari cremation centre here on Sunday.
Pandey passed away at the age of 93 on Saturday night.
Paying tributes to the departed soul, Chief Minister said Mother India has lost an illustrious son, having spent jail in childhood while participating in freedom movement.
Rs Rs The country in general and the state in particular, has also lost a great leader and social worker. It is also my personal loss as he always guided me’’, said Baghel.
