The Chhattisgarh Government is purchasing paddy on Minimum Support Price (MSP) at all the procurement Centres in the State.
According to the Chhattisgarh State MARKFED officials around 14,08,751 metric tonnes of paddy had been procured by the 1995 procurement centres.
The price of the paddy is estimated to be about Rs 2476.31 crore as per the MSP. If the bonus is added it will cost Rs 2911 .62 crore , officials informed.
The MARKFED officials said that the special campaign to purchase paddy had been launched on November 1, 2018 which will last till January 31, 2019.
The process of purchasing paddy is still going on. The estimated target is fixed at 75 lakh metric tonnes.
The MARKFED officials said that on December 4 , around 4.90 lakh metric tonnes ‘Common’ variety paddy, 5.50 lakh metric tonnes ‘A-Grade’ paddy and 3,68,076 metric tonnes ‘Saarna’ paddy had been procured at the purchasing centres.
