A 24-year-old contract worker engaged in work related to Raw Material Handling System (RMHS) in Convertor area of Bhilai Steel Plant’s Steel Melting Shop 3 project died after an overhead gas cylinder fell on his head at the plant on Friday.
According to a BSP press release, Horilal Yadav, the 24-year-old semi-skilled worker of M/s India Tech Engg & Contractors, a Sub-contractor of M/s Essar Projects India ltd had received head injury at around 10 am when a CO2 gas cylinder fell from above.
He was immediately rushed to the Plant’s Main Medical Post where doctors on duty declared him brought dead.
An enquiry has been instituted to find out the cause of accident and support as per rules would be extended to the family of the deceased, it stated.
