In the current season till date, nearly 14.78 lakh standard sacks of tendu patta have been collected from forests through primary forest produce cooperative societies in Chhattisgarh which is nearly 88.41 per cent of the total target, an official statement informed on Sunday.
Wages worth Rs 369.50 crore at the rate of Rs 2500 per standard sack will be distributed to the tendu patta collectors’ families.
Officials of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (Trade and Development) informed that in this season till date, receipts of One lakh 50 thousand 685 standard sacks of tendu patta has been recorded in collection centres of Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada and Bastar district unions of Jagdalpur forest circle.
