Opp members stage walkout, shout breach of privilege

Published on:

Opposition BJP members staged walkout from Chhattisgarh Assembly while charging breach of privilege by Minister for Home Affairs, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowment Tamradhwaj Sahu over declaration about Rajim Punni Mela in public despite the notification of Assembly session getting issued.

A motion of breach of privilege was moved by BJP member Shivratan Sharma but  Speaker Charandas Mahant didn’t allow a  discussion on it while ruling that the issue had not been brought before him on time.

Raising the issue the Opposition BJP members including Brijmohan Agrawal charged that the new government was inexperienced and thus was making mistakes.

Congress members objected to the statement of Brijmohan Agrawal and said earlier the Opposition members were stating that Congress has 60 years of experience and now surprisingly they were alleging that new government was inexperienced, they said.

Meanwhile,  asserting that the matter was under his consideration, Speaker Charandas Mahant disallowed discussion on it and the Opposition BJP members staged a walkout dissatisfied over his ruling.
