The State Government, after providing online scholarship payment facility to the post-matric students of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Classes has now started the facility for the students of pre-matric classes.
Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Kedar Kashyap on Tuesday dedicated Chhattisgarh Pre-Metric Scholarship Web Portal for the payment of scholarship to the 9th and 10th class students.To make the online inspection of hostels and ashrams effective, the Minister dedicated online monitoring system also.Additional Chief Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, NK Aswal, Secretary K Murugan, Commissioner NK Khakha, Technical Director of NIC DK Devnath and other senior officers were present in the function.
The Minister asked the officers to ensure benefits of schemes to all the needy of the lowest level within time limit.It was stated in the meeting that under the scheme of the State Government, online post-matric scholarship payment has been made to 25,000 students.Now, pre-metric students would also get online payment of scholarship.In the review meeting, Kashyap asked the officers to inspect ashram hostels themselves and collect information about availability of basic facility like electricity, toilet and drinking water to the children.
He told them to inspect Ashram-hostels from July and strict action would be taken against them if lapses are reported in performing their duty.Additional Chief Secretary NK Aswal said that good atmosphere for studies should be created for the students and their life should not be affected by difficulties.With the online mode, more transparency and capability would come in the departmental work, he said.
