District Collector Yashwant Kumar on Friday directed officials to make online entry of the work progress made by all contractors involved in the infrastructure development projects.
He was reviewing the progress of work made in the district in a meeting held at the Collectorate yesterday. Kumar directed the officials to visit the sites frequently and monitor the progress in work.
He said that the concerned contractors be directed to bring about momentum in the pace of work besides paying due attention to the quality of work done at the sites. Singh said that in case a contractor is found not working or not following the quality parameters required for a work, the deposit of the concerned contractor be forfeited and his name be put in the ‘Black list’.
Expressing anger over repeated closure and start of construction work , he directed officials to offer maximum two chances to the contractors to commence work thereafter action be initiated against them.
While reviewing work under MNREGS, Kumar said that there must be atleast two employment oriented work taken up in every Gram Panchayat. He directed that as soon as a work gets completed under MNREGS the other work must start immediately.
