Collector and district electoral officer RPS Tyagi informed on Saturday to all electorates’ registration officials to release electorate photo identity cards to voters according to the provisions of Section 28 of Electorates Registration Act 1960.
The Collector further informed that as per the directives of Election Commission a person will have to deposit Rs25 as fee for the second copy of voter identity card.
In a letter sent to officials, Tyagi also asked the concerned officials to distribute all the ready voters’ photo identity cards to voters with the help of Booth level Officials (BlOs).
He also instructed the officials to continuously revise voters list besides conducting publicity work for increasing the percentage of voting.
