The Chhattisgarh government has relieved farmers of their tensions by bringing different ‘Nyay’ (justice) schemes, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday.
He was addressing Belpan villagers in the Takhatpur assembly constituency in Bilaspur district.
He said the aim of the government was to provide better financial stability for farmers and labourers.
Debts arising from their loans were waived off and input subsidy was being provided, Baghel said. All this had helped to revive the agriculture sector.
Baghel said there has been an increase in both the number of farmers and the area of farming land. Apart from it, millet farming was being promoted in the state under the ‘Millet Mission’.
He pledged to upgrade Ganiyari as a Nagar Panchayat, construct a mini stadium in Sankaribhanta village and develop the Belpan temple.
On overcoming the water crisis in Takhatpur city, he said water will be supplied from Khudia reservoir.
A villager complained to the Chief Minister that the Patwari had demanded money from him. Baghel asked the Collector to investigate. If the complaint is found correct, he said strict action should be taken against both the earlier and present Patwaris.
