nIn an effort to sensitize the employees and greengrocers of vegetable market at Ujjwal Nagar, NTPC Sipat, street plays presented by the children of Disha Kendra on October 10.
They presented play on plastic pollution and pollution free diwali, according to a press communiqué from the NTPC.
By this effort it was tried to convey the message of ill effect of single use plastic in our environment and how our environment get polluted by burning fire cracker and its impact on animals, birds and respiratory disease patients.
On this occasion paper bags were distributed among vegetable vendors by president, Sangwari Mahila Samiti Kamala Padmakumar and the members. Sangwari Mahila Samiti (SMS) is the women's welfare wing of the NTPC-Sipat working for development of weaker section by different charitable works.
Disha kendra is a sister concern of Sangwari Mahila Samiti, and dedicated for uplift of the children of domestic help workers engaged in NTPC township. SMS organized coaching camps and other extracurricular activities for their holistic development.
