District Public Education Committee and NTPC Jamnipalli, Korba have jointly pledged to make Chhurikhurd and Dhanras village panchayats, coming under the Katghora Development Block Public Education Committee, total literate. In this regards a special convention of illiterate, newly literate had been organised at Chhurikhurd and Dhanras village panchayats, in which, additional general manager of NTPC HR department K lingaya and senior manager Imtiaz Ali were present as special guests.
District project officer Dr Seema Bharadwaj chaired the programme. NTPC has assured to provide sufficient resources, including encouragement amount to honorary teachers, study materials and light refreshment facility to the illiterate studying in the public literacy centres after 8 in the night, for making both the villages total literate.
