National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) workers staged a gherao at the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) and also attempted to lock it down alleging that applicants from other States were being given preference in Chhattisgarh.
led by State President Akash Sharma NSUI members had minor scuffle with the police deployed in CGPSC premises. Sharma alleged that PSC had invited applications for vacant 109 seats but it suddenly hiked the number of seats to 325 and also provided the candidates to apply online by May 15.
Sharma alleged that PSC exams are scheduled on May 9 and 10 in States like MP and UP which is why the dates of Chhattisgarh PSC exams were moved to June 7 to enable the students from other States to participate in local exams.
