NSUI members from Rajim through a memorandum have demanded shifting of a liquor shop in the township.
In the memorandum handed over to District Collector Niranjan Das here, they warned of staging protests if the liquor shop is not removed.
A delegation led by Avinash Tiwari, the President of Rajim unit of NSUI demanded shifting of Indian Made Foreign liquor (IMFl) shop at Bhuteshwar Chowk adjacent to the bus stand.
In the memorandum, they maintained that the spot for shifting IMFl and country made liquor shops has already been identified, however, only country made liquor shop has been shifted while, the IMFl shop is functioning at its old location.
They claimed that a Ganesh temple as well as a Gayatri temple is hardly 100 meters from the IMFl shop. Both the temples are frequently visited by devotees and school and college students use the same way to commute to their institutions daily.
