NSUI burns effigies of Modi, Yogi

Published on:

Activists of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Monday burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here.

They were protesting against a case lodged on Sunday against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel under the Epidemic Act in Noida in Uttar Pradesh during door-to-door electioneering.

NSUI state Vice President Amit Sharma said the FIR registered against the Chief Minister was absolutely wrong and undemocratic.

No case has been lodged against Adityanath and Modi who are addressing thousands in public meetings even as the Election Commission has become a mute spectator in their cases, Sharma alleged.
