The Election Comm-ission has re-issued notices to three independent candidates who contested election from the Raipur-west constituency but yet to file the detail of their election expenses.
The concerned returning officer has served the notices to Seikh Ismail alias Wakil mamu, Colonel Balwant Singh and likesh Kumar Singh.
“If they don’t submit their expenses detail within next two days, criminal proceedings will be initiated against them and the vehicles allotted to them could be withdrawn,” official said.
The candidates were supposed to submit their expenses detail by November 12. The candidates did not submit the detail nor did they allegedly submit any explanation.
In the notice, the returning officer reportedly stated that if the defaulted candidates fail to submit their expenses detail within 48 hours, complaints could be lodged at the police station. According to the provision, a candidate was also supposed to file detail of its day to day tour with the District Returning Officer.
