Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday waived off the need to submit a notarized affidavit for registration under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana (RGKNY).
With farmers facing problems in making notarized affidavits and leading to unnecessary expenditure, the Chief Minister directed Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey to amend the guidelines. Accordingly, the Agriculture Ministry has abolished the obligation of giving affidavits to the farmers for registration. The joint account holding farmers can now give a self-declaration form for registration. The revised order states that farmers who had registered for sale of paddy at minimum support price in Kharif year 2020-21 need not register under the scheme again.
But farmers growing the other main crops of maize, minor millets (kodo-kutki), soyabean, arhar and sugarcane will have to get registered.
