Collector and District Election Officer Thakur Ram Singh on Thursday explained the various responsibilities assigned to the nodal officers and assistant nodal officers for the forthcoming civic body polls.
In a meeting held here at the Collectorate on Thursday, Singh informed the officers that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) would be used for polling and the election material will be distributed and received at the Government Engineering College.
The counting of votes for Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) will be held at the Government Engineering College while counting for other urban bodies will be held at the counting centers of their respective areas.
The Collector directed the nodal officers and the assistant nodal officers to start preparations regarding elections.
Singh appointed 18 nodal officers for civic body elections and assigned responsibilities to them. These include— RMC Commissioner Avanish Kumar Sharan who will look after defacement of walls in properties and make necessary arrangements at polling centers.
CEO of Zila Panchayat Kiran Kaushal will be responsible for formation of polling parties, Additional Collector Bharatlal Banjare for EVM arrangement, Additional Collector (Revenue) MD Kanvre for training of polling parties, creation of zones and sectors, training of counting personnel and preparation of route chart.
ADM Sanjay Agrawal has been assigned responsibility of issuing directives for compliance of Model Code of Conduct, formation of teams and law and order situation.
Road Transport Officer Hl Nayak will prepare route chart (for Traffic), Traffic arrangement and availability of vehicles. Sub Divisional Officer SK Agrawal will be responsible for election material distribution and receiving from the polling parties.
Superintendent, land Records, Seema Thakur is the nodal officer for preparation of certified copies of voter list and issuing passes to counting agents. SDO (Revenue) Deepak Agrawal is the nodal officer for formation of Complaint Cell while Senior Treasurer Neeraj Mishra is the nodal officer for arrangements of strong room and inspection of expenditure accounts.
