The Chhattisgarh Police on Monday ruled out its involvement in the alleged attack on Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Soni Sori that had happened at Bastarnar region of Bastar on February 20.
A Press statement released by SIB (State Intelligence Bureau) of Chhattisgarh Police stated “Police has no role in the incident, which is a bodily offence. The incident is deplorable and the police condemns such an incident on any individual, whatever be their leanings or affiliations.”
It further read that “this is not an acid attack. Someone threw black pain/grease on Ms Soni Sori’s face in Dantewada. She was treated in Jagdalpur and later brought to Raipur. The pain is because of black material being scratched in Primary Health Center. Police has lodged FIR and trying to locate the mischief mongers. Police is actively searching for them. Ms Soni Sori is entitled to all rights and protection like any other citizen. Efforts are being made to bring culprits to book.”
