This year there will be no government-sponsored cultural functions at ‘Maghi Punni Mela’ held at Rajim in Chhattisgarh. The mela will be held from February 27 to March 11.
Religious Trust and Religion Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu on Thursday told officials that this has been decided in view of the corona guidelines from the Central government.
However, for the convenience of devotees, all arrangements will be made, he said.
Sahu earlier visited Rajim and called a meeting of Collectors and Superintendents of Police of Gariaband, Raipur and Dhamtari districts.
Facilities like roads, toilets, power supply, water and sanitation will be provided by the government, he said.
During the Mela, holy baths will take place on February 27, March 6 and March 11.
