State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ajay Chandrakar who is temporarily holding charge of the Home Department in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday said that there are no confirmed reports of Maoists killing atleast 10 persons in Narayanpur district a few days back.
Chandrakar while talking with The Pioneer said that if any such thing has happened then we ( the State) will retaliate strongly. However, at the movement, I do not have any confirmed details about the incident, he said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sukma D Shravan also could not confirm the incident and termed it as a ‘rumour’.
“At this moment we cannot confirm the killings. We are sending the police teams to verify the incidents,” he said.
The police staff in the district also did not have any confirmed information about the incident.
Unconfirmed reports stated that Maoists had killed at least ten persons in Narayanpur district after suspecting them to be police informers in the last few days.
