Additional Chief Secretary and Chairman of Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) N Baijendra Kumar on Wednesday said that people have high expectations from Naya Raipur which should be taken care of while developing a ‘Smart City’.
‘Fall in quality of construction in Naya Raipur will not be tolerated,’ said Kumar while reviewing the progress of 48 different construction and development works being undertaken in Naya Raipur during a meeting held here on Wednesday.
Kumar issued directives to the officers to complete the construction and development works in time, while adding that, along with major construction works undertaken, the basic needs of the general public should also be met on a priority basis.
Addressing representatives of various agencies involved with Naya Raipur and NRDA officials, the Additional Chief Secretary said that any problem related to construction work should be resolved as soon as possible.
He directed the construction agencies to work in coordination with the officers to complete the work in time.
Kumar also reviewed the status of works related to water supply, power supply, second phase of construction of roads, reservoir promotion and development works, installation of lED street lights, infrastructure development in various sectors, infrastructure development in the North and South Block of the campus of the new capital, development of central Boulevard, construction of BSUP houses and construction of various departments besides rural development schemes.
NRDA Vice Chairman SS Bajaj, CEO Saurabh Kumar, General Manager MD Kavre and Chief Engineer Salil Srivastava besides other officers were present in the meeting.
