Even after passing of five days, there was no trace of the former sarpanch who was abducted by Maoist insurgents along with another villager, who has been released by the rebels after thorough enquiry.

According to police sources, on August 21 last 8-10 Maoist insurgents entered Pedda Kodepal village and asked former sarpanch Madoram Korsa and one of the villagers Ramlal Sakni to follow them in to Jungle to participate in a meeting.

After three days of sustained interrogation the rebels released the villager Sakni but the former sarpanch was still in their captivity and there was no clue about his whereabouts. Due to fear of insurgents’ reprisal the family did not register any case in police. Notably, on August 20, the Maoists had abducted two Government employees of Awapalli Tehsil office and released only after two days of interrogation.
