No clue was found to the whereabouts of the abducted jawan even when Maoists insurgents attacked the police party which had gone to search him out. One of the jawans of search team was injured in the attack, police said.

According to Narayanpur Assistant Superintendent of Police Neelkanth Sahu, a jawan of district police force Dhansai Sori was abducted by Maoists along with his friends Ghasiaram on Sunday last. While after a day the insurgents freed Ghasiaram, there was no clue about the whereabout of Dhansai. Police party has been sent to search him out, Sahu added. Meanwhile, the rebels ambushed the police search party by triggering a landmine in which one cop Rajkumar Dehari was injured. After initial treatment the injured jawan has been brought to Jagdalpur Medical College Hospital while othjer jawans of the team were safe.

Notably, constable Dhansai Sori, who was posted in Benur Thana of Narayanpur district had gone to Narayanpur for getting his mobile repaired with his friend Ghasiaram. When he did not return till evening, a search was launched during which it came to light that Dhansai had gone to his native village Adpal instead of returning to work place. Adpal is considered as hub of naxal activities. From there Maoist rebels reportedly abducted both Dhansai and Ghasiaram. After some questioning the rebels set Ghasiaram free but constable Dhansai was still in their captivity.
