NMDC Ltd organised the 4th anniversary programme of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ at its headquarters in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The programme was also held in all the company’s major projects across the country spreading the message of 'Cleaner India - Greener India' being the motto of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, a company press release informed here on Tuesday.
N Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC, who was the chief guest inaugurated the programme at the company’s headquarters in Hyderabad where Dr. Narendra K. Nanda, Director (Technical); Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial) and senior officials were present.
While addressing the gathering, Kumar emphasized on the importance of cleanliness in our day to day life.
He said that one should imbibe Gandhiji’s ideology on cleanliness and contribute at least two hours in a week and 100 hours in a year for cleaning our surroundings and office premises and start the campaign with oneself.
Kumar further added that this way we will have clean surroundings and safe environment.
After garlanding and paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, a pledge was administered by NMDC CMD and all the employees also took the pledge and later cleaned the premises of NMDC Head Office Building Khanij Bhawan at Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
