Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday arrested nine persons for fraudulently applying for a drug license to operate medical stores in the state’s pharmacy council here.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal identified the nine as Ravindra Kumar Sahu, Rameshwar Sahu, Dameshwar Kumar Sahu, Sanjay Kushwaha, Khemlal Dhiwar, Ramakant Nishad, Chandresh Sahu, Suraj Agrawal and Sheetal Kumar.
Efforts are on to nab 20 others in the case, the officer said.
They were arrested following a cheating case lodged by Dr Shrikant Rajimwale a few days ago.
As per the FIR, 29 people including seven women applied for the license to the council.
During verification of the documents, the council found that the degrees and diplomas of the applicants were fake.
