State BJP president Vikram Usendi on Saturday termed the claims of the state government and Congress leaders of Chhattisgarh being a ‘corruption free’ state, as a mere deception.
In a statement, Usendi said the surfacing of corruption charges against a non-government organization by the state forest department officials in Bastar, leaves a number of unanswered questions.
The order by a senior IFS officer in the state forest department headquarters in Raipur to probe into the works under taken by the Bastar-based NGO, ‘Prabal Adhaar Sewa Sansthan’, reinforces the doubts, he said.
The enquiry for corruption will be conducted out by a panel of three senior IFS officers chaired by the state principal chief conservator of forest, the BJP leader said.
The probe will uncover the corruption charges, he said.
After the Congress government came to power, the NGO was allocated a large quantum of work in Bijapur and Dantewada districts, by-passing rules, Usendi said.
The work was related to training, creating awareness, bio-diversity and others, he said and added that without any work at ground level the payment of Rs 2 crore was released to the NGO, the BJP leader said.
Usendi further said that the NGO had even donated Rs 1 lakh as to the CM’s Relief Fund through Bastar MP Deepak Baij.
The BJP state president demanded stern action against the officials involved in the corruption.
