Outgoing Secretary of Public Relations Department Santosh Mishra was given an emotional farewell by department officials and employees here on Thursday.

In a small programme organised in a local hotel, Mishra said in his address-" I am glad that I could fulfil my duties with the support of all the officials and employees."

He said that apart from the traditional media, nowadays new media is also playing crucial role in effective publicity of Government’s public welfare schemes.

New media was a big challenge, but everyone's support, state government's schemes and programmes have successfully marked their presence on social media in last one year, Mishra said.

He thanked all the officials and employees for working together with team spirit.

Director and Joint Secretary Public Relations Rajesh Sukumar Toppo said that many important initiatives were taken in Public Relations Department in the tenure of Santosh Mishra.

He said that earlier government had limited activity on social media.

On the initiative taken by Mishra, a new infrastructure has been established for social media presence of the government, as result of which government's schemes and programmes are being effectively publicized in public interest.

This has created a new identity of Chhattisgarh on social media.

On the occasion, Additional Director of Public Relations Department and Additional CEO of Chhattisgarh Samvad Jl Dariyo, Joint Director Jamuna Sandiya, Sanjeev Tiwari, Alok Dev, Vipin Kishore Tigga, Harsha Pauranik, and officials-employees of Public Relations Department and Chhattisgarh Samvad were also present.
