'New land Act becomes headache for farmers'

Published on:

The newly formulated land rules by the ruling BJP government in the State titled ‘Chhattisgarh land Revenue Act’ has proved to be a deterrent for the common man and the farmers as well alleged State Congress spokesman Susheel Anand Shukla.

He said that people are fed up with the newly formulated rule. Shukla said that directives have been issued by district collectors which says that Chhattisgarh land Revenue (Amendment) Act 2013 should mandatorily be implemented and hence registrations were also being stopped in registration offices.

This new Act has forced farmers to run pillar to post to get their job done whereas due to this newly formulated Act a person who has got agricultural land in his possession can’t sell his land to a person who is not a registered farmer, he said. Actual farmers have to toil hard to get themselves identified as farmers and potential buyers too get puzzled to prove themselves that they are actual farmers, added Shukla.

He says that needy people are bound to  frequent government offices to get their land related jobs done. Shukla allegedly said that there is a reason for a haste in bringing out the land Revenue Act so that land would be prevented from getting sold due to complex rules and regulations. The people would be embroiled in the legalities to follow the rules.

The Government officials, leaders and their allies had allegedly invested large amount of money in land  therefore they want to wait and get the value of such land increase many folds. By making people get into complex web of the land Revenue Act, they are allegedly deterring the people to carry out buying and selling of land, he added.
