A new computerised system for labour licence Management in Bhilai Steel Plant in respect of contractors and contract labour was inaugurated by R Muley, GM (C&IT), Bhilai Steel Plant and RK Sharma, GM (Pers), Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP).
Speaking on the occasion, RK Sharma GM (Pers) emphasised the importance of the computer module. He mentioned that BSP is committed to ensuring the effective implementation of labour laws and labour licence of contractors is one of such related vital issues.
This module would ensure elimination of errors, which could creep into manual process. He also praised other IT interventions that have been implemented with the help of C&IT in the area of contract labour management.
GM C&IT) R Muley in her address appreciated the effort and said that such interventions become successful when the task is taken up by the user departments themselves and success is inevitable in such situations. She admired the team work of SAP, C&IT and Personnel team for this accomplishment and hoped that many more milestones can be achieved with such cooperation.
The salient features of the system were explained by BVN Prasad, AGM(P-ClC). These features include maintaining details of labour licence issued by the AlC (Central) Raipur to the contractors and feeding of details of gate passes of contract labours issued to the contractor during last one year.
