New Govt hits austerity button; only 2 Depts to print 2019 calenders

Published on:

In the first instance of an austerity drive taken up by the newly-formed Congress Government, the State Government has directed all its departments, corporations, boards and public undertakings not to publish new calendars of year 2019 except in case of Revenue and Tourism Department .

Taking immediate action on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's directives to control excessive official expenditure, the General Administration Department (GAD) has issued circular from the Mantralaya to all the departments in this context.

The circular states that Revenue Department gets Government diaries and calendars printed, and besides that various departments, corporations and boards also get their own diaries and calendars published individually.

It has been mentioned in the circular that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, except Tourism Department, all the Government departments, corporations and boards etc will be using the official diaries and calendars published by Revenue Department, and no separate publishing of department-wise diaries and calendars will be done.

It is noteworthy that State Government's diaries and calendars are printed and published by the Government Printing House under Revenue Department.
