A new faction of Sikshakarmis from its parental body has popped up claiming beginning of a new struggle for Sikshakarmis. ‘Navin Shikshakarmi Sangh’ (NSS) is the organisation formed by those Shikshakarmis who have not completed 8 years in job and hence are deprived of the benefits announced by State Government.
The NSS would hold a one day strike at Budha Talab on August 18 demanding 6th pay grade for Shikshakarmis who have not completed 8 years in service, informed Vikash Singh President of the association and Girish Sahu Secretary NSS in a press conference on Thursday .
Singh said that almost 1.45 lakh Shikshakarmis took part in the struggled to get the benefits of 6th pay grade, however the State Government decided to give its benefits to those who have completed 8 years in service. Thousands of Sikshakarmis have been deprived of befits due to the decision, he claimed.
Singh further said “in current price escalation scenario it has become hard for teachers to meet the demands of their families. Hence Government should not bias teachers on the base of experience and should give benefits to all,” he demanded. Girish Sahu claimed NSS is completely different from Shikshak Panchayat Sngharsh Samiti and NSS has decided to boycott their programs-campaigns. Sahu further said on August 18 we would also raise demands of giving proper compensation to the family members of those who had died during the strike last year.
