Chhattisgarh Rajya Sabha member Ramvichar Netam on Friday raised the issue of recent spurt in Naxal-related incidents in the state in parliament on Friday.
Incidentally, on the same day three persons were killed and two others injured in a gun battle between the security forces and the ultras in the state’s Bijapur district.
Netam, during zero hour, said that the number of incidents related to Naxals has increased in the past six month.
As per Home Ministry report, till December 2018 only 10 districts were affected by Naxals, but now the number has gone up, the BJP MP said.
Incidents from other districts are being reported, he added. Netam alleged that the Congress-led state government is not taking the issue seriously.
He also said that in Dhamtari district two villagers were shot dead suspecting them as Naxals, which points at laxity on the part of law enforcers.
