President of District Panchayat Forest and Cooperative Society lokeshwari Netam directed the officials to immediately clear the pending wages for the works done under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) for the year 2011-12 here on Thursday.
She also criticised the officials for the delay in payment of wages to the workers. Netam, who recently convened the first block-level meeting of District Panchayat Committee and discussed many critical issues including the pending payments of the works done under MNREGA with the officials. During the meeting, Goutam Nagesh, a local committee leader drew her attention towards the plight of poor families who were deprived of their ration cards.
She shared his sympathies with the families who still were unable to get ration cards and issued instruction to the CEO A N Singh to take immediate steps to issue ration cards to them.
Netam also expressed displeasure over the absence of Ranger R l Harwansh in the meeting despite the fact that he had timely instruction to participate in it. She said that the committee would inspect all the projects being carried out in Deobhog.
