Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday expressed his confidence that the BJP-led NDA will get over 272 seats and will form the Government at the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
Singh said there was a huge enthusiasm among the electorate for Modi. The same enthusiasm was earlier seen for Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The Chief Minister expressed his confidence that the long pending projects of Chhattisgarh will get necessary approval after the formation of Modi Government at the Centre.
Interacting with media persons, Singh who is heading the BJP Government in the mineral-rich State since December 2003, said the high polling in the last phase of election indicate a wave in favour of the BJP and people have voted for it.
Singh said the impact of the good work his Government has undertaken in the last ten years was felt in the election. People rushed to the voting centres spontaneously to support the BJP.
Singh said the mood of the people was reflected in road shows and the election campaigns he carried out in 90 Assembly constituencies for two months.
“The voters were frustrated with the misgovernance, inflation, corruption and anti-people economic policy of the Congress-led Central Government,’’ he said.
He said that people wanted a change in the country and a wave against the Central Government had been sweeping across the country. That’s why the electorates came out in large numbers from their houses on the day of polling to vote out the corroupt Congress regime,’’ he said.
He stated that people think it was essential for them to bring the BJP and Modi for good governance and development.
