Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chhattisgarh president Satish Jaggi, along with his supporters, joined Congress in presence of party national president Rahul Gandhi at Ambikapur on Saturday.
Jaggi, son of late politician Ramavatar Jaggi, had been heading the NCP in the State for past 15 years. In year 2003, the party had bagged one seat (from Chandrapur) but in next two successive assembly polls held in 2008 and 2013, the party drew blank.
NCP was launched in Chhattisgarh by late Congress veteran Vidya Charan Shukla in 2003.
