The Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) has taken significant steps in the direction of bringing transparency in its work and in developing work efficiency. Now files in the office will be disposed of online and for that, digital records of files of different departments have been prepared, informed CEO Amit Kataria here on Saturday.

Kataria said that the authority has stepped forward in the direction of digitalising the office, under which officers and employees have been imparted training. More than 79,000 records had been scanned and their digital copy prepared. Some officers have started their work online, he added.

Kataria said that the NRDA is the first authority in the State that has started online working system at office level. Some departments at the secretariat level have practiced it successfully. He hoped that with the digital office, Naya Raipur would have multifaceted benefits, as per the imagination of Smart City. In the beginning, along with the digital office, files would be maintained physically also and in the days to come, the office would be made fully paperless.

He said that with the online office, work would be speeded up and paper and time saved and the inordinate delay in the disposal of files avoided. Besides, the system would be proved helpful in overseeing the work.

An action plan has been prepared for establishing digital office in Chhattisgarh, under which digital copy of old files of all departments have been prepared. So far 1.25 crore records have been scanned. Online work have been started in six departments in the Secretariat such as Energy, Information Technology, Planning Economic and Statistics, 20-point Programme Implementation, Transport and General Administration. More departments would soon be digitalized.
