A martyrs’ week to be observed by the Maoists in the insurgency-hit Bastar region from July 28 to August 3 is not going to be successful, asserted Superintendent of Police (SP), Bastar RN Dash here on Wednesday.
Strong security arrangements have been made to render the Martyr’s week ineffective, the SP said in a press statement.
According to him, search operations in the interior areas have been increased.
“The year-long police actions have weakened Maoist organisation in Bastar and we will not allow Naxals to swing back. The Martyr’s week will not be effective,” he claimed.
Notably, Maoists through banners and posters placed in different parts of Bastar had announced observing of Martyr’s week from July 28 to August 3. The week is observed by Maoists every year in memory of their cadres who have lost their lives. They construct memorials and engage in spreading the Maoist ideology.
