Suspected Naxals murdered the driver of an Additional District Magistrate in insurgency-hit Sukma district, police said here on Thursday.
“The driver identified as Srinivas Bisen (35) was shot at and also stabbed by a group of armed Naxals near Kerlapal Village under Fulbagdi Police station limits while he was on way back to his native place,’’ Superintendent of Police (SP) Sukma IK Elesela said.
late Wednesday evening, Bisen after finishing his duty, was going back to his village, located around 16 kms away from Sukma District headquarters, on his motorbike.
According to police, the victim had reached near Girdalpara close to Kerlapal Village when, some armed Naxals fired at him and also stabbed with some sharp-edged weapon.
later on, the police was reported about the incident and they reached the spot. He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him ‘brought dead’.
The SP further informed that some pamphlets were also found at the incident spot in which Maoists have accused Bisen of acting as a police informer.
Police have registered a case in this connection and have launched operations to nab the those behind incident.
