Naxalism losing its base in Chhattisgarh: Baghel

Published on:

nChhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel claiming that soon Naxal menace would be rooted out from the state, said that with surrender and encounters of its big leaders, Naxalism in Chhattisgarh was now losing its base.

Baghel, while talking to reporters during his tour to launch election campaign for Chitrakot assembly by-poll, said he was aware of the resentment of tribals over detention of innocent villagers in jails. “A committee has been formed by the state government to look into the matter but due to election code of conduct it could not submit its report”, he said.

Soon after the elections are over the government will work on the recommendations of the committee for release of detained innocent tribals, he added.

Later the Chief Minister also addressed two public meetings in the poll-bound Chitrakot assembly               constituency and launched his party’s poll campaign.
