With dedicated and coordinated efforts of the Governments at the Centre and State, Naxalism is towards eradication in Chhattisgarh, stated Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon.
Tandon was speaking at Governor’s convention held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on Tuesday.
The convention was inaugurated by President of India Pranab Mukherjee in the presence of Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and Governors of different states and lieutenant Governors of union territories.
Praising the joint efforts of the State and Central governments, the Governor informed the gathering that around 44 battalions of Central Paramilitary Force have been deployed in Chhattisgarh, of which 40 battalions are deployed in eight district of worst insurgency-hit Bastar division.
Tandon also highlighted the details of work carried out by Chhattisgarh’s Special Task Force (STF).
