Narco test CD: Mayor trains her gun on Raipur IG

Congress Tuesday trained its gun on Inspector General of Police G P Singh on the issue of Indira Priyadarshini Bank scam CD in which the bank manager Umesh Sinha during his Narco test alleged that he paid money not only to Chief Minister and four of his cabinet colleagues but also a top police official.

Addressing a press conference Tuesday noon, senior advocate and Raipur Mayor Kiranmoyee Nayak  said that when the case was in court the IG could not hold a press conference on the issue. She demanded that a case can be filed against the IG for tempering with evidences. She questioned when the CD was with the police then why it was not produced in the court. IG and the investigating officers should be booked for hiding the evidence, she added. Notably, just after the release of CD of Priyadarshini bank Manager Umesh Sinha’s  narco test the Raipur IG had held a press conference and termed the CD as fake.

Registering her objection on the action of the IG, Nayak said when the case is sub judice, by terming the CD as fake the IG is perhaps performing the role of a judge. She charged that Raipur IG Singh himself was a suspect in Rahul Sharma case. The Mayor said that Narco test is performed on accused of very serious cases. In this case too, the police had taken court’s permission but why it did not present the CD in the court even if it was fake, she asked.
