A 38-year-old woman, who hailed from Thailand and was on tourist visa, died in Chhattisgarh’s industrial town Bhilai late on Friday night, police said.

Mystery has shrouded over her untimely death as doctors who treated her at Bhilai Nursing Home failed to pinpoint a certain cause to her death. Unconfirmed reports say that she was taken to hospital having stomach pain and bleeding.

Police claimed that the lady Rattana Ponrum along with her sister Pobin and one friend landed in India on tourist visa from Thailand in September last year. They were employed at Veda Spa located in Amit Nagar of Bhilai since last month whereas they were living in a rented house at Shanti Nagar area.

As per reports, the deceased had about eight week pregnancy and doctors in Bhilai had carried out abortion after consent was granted by her close relatives.

The doctors in Bhilai referred Rattana to Raipur when her condition deteriorated due to bleeding during operation but she died in the mid-way.
